ABOUT ME
I have taught Graphic Design at Mott Community College for past ten years as an adjunct in the Fine Arts and Social Sciences Department. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Wayne State University in Studio Art with a concentration in Graphic Design. I completed graduate work in Graphic Design at Michigan State University and will finish my a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Michigan State University this fall. I have worked as a graphic designer for the past fifteen years for a variety of companies and continues to actively work as a graphic designer in print, web, and video.
My teaching interests include the basics of graphic design and graphic design history. I have also taken an interest in the art of letterpress printing in recent years. My research interests include the integration of technology into the classroom and the use of design to better communicate with students. Specifically, I look at how design and technology can better help teachers communicate with students. I won the 2014 LAND Competition in Adjunct Category for my presentation on Rethinking the Syllabus: Setting the Stage for Success. I currently reside in Fenton. In my free time, I spend time letterpress printing, screen-printing, reading and baking.
